Education committee's purpose is to proved our members with all NAR, MAR and State of Michigan's mandatory education requirements and to promote advanced educational opportunities, including specialty seminars and REALTOR designations, i.e. GRI, Quadrennial Training, Short Sale Seminar, Property Tax Seminar and Con-Ed. Karl Beuckelaere, will again be the Education Chair and is excited to bring more "Back to Basic" courses at a reduced cost to our members.

Finance Committee is responsible for reviewing the budget and financial policies of the Association. The Committee recommends policies for the investment of funds and monitors monthly statements. The Finance Committee reviews requests for non-budget items, which are submitted by other Committees, for approval or disapproval.

Legislative/RPAC Committee's goal is to encourage members' awareness and participation in legislative and political activities. Some of the activities include conducting candidate interviews at local and state levels, making recommendations for support and endorsement, raising funds and increasing awareness about the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC), and monitoring legislative issues which have a potential affect on the real estate business and private property rights. The chair will be Hussein Berry and he is looking forward to help our members understand the importance of RPAC and the Legislative Process.

Membership Services' principal goal is enhancing the REALTOR® image in the community. This is accomplished by supporting the public awareness campaign through local media, and conducting a variety of events and activities through Task Forces, such as, Special Days, Home & Garden Expo, The Big Open House, Dearborn Height s Spirit Fest, Homecoming, and more. By joining this committee, you can select one or more events to participate in.

DABOR is looking for new members for the Grievance Committee. The Grievance Committee gives initial consideration to both allegations of unethical conduct and requests for arbitration, then forwards for hearing before a Hearing Panel of the Professional Standards Committee all complaints that have a basis of unethical conduct. This committee ensures that all complaints are processed in an expedient manner. There is special training provided for all Grievance Committee members.
The training can be done February 6, 2009, at Laurel Manor, 39000 Schoolcraft, Livonia, MI 48150 from 9 am to 1 pm. This half-day workshop designed to assist REALTORS® who serve on professional standards and grievance committees to gain new insights and knowledge of Professional Standards through mock hearings and classroom instruction. Committee meetings will be held each quarter with the first meetings are being planned for the first week in February. A schedule of all meetings will be at each committee meeting. Task Forces will meet as needed.
